Johnson (“JJ”) Njeke Independent Chairman
JJ has a history of service on high level boards and brings experienced leadership to 4AX. JJ, a Chartered Accountant (SA) and former PWC partner, served as the Managing Director of Kagiso Trust Investments from 1992 to 2010. JJ co-founded Kagiso Trust Investments in 1994. He previously served as a member of the Katz Commission of Inquiry into Taxation in South Africa, the General Committee of the JSE Securities Exchange, the Audit Commission - Supervisory Body of the Office of Auditor General and the Audit Committee of National Treasury. He also served as chairman of SAICA, MMI Holdings and ArcelorMittal. JJ recently joined the Board of Clicks Group Limited as Non-Executive Director.
Warren Wheatley is the Chief Investment Officer of Lebashe Investment Group along with being one of the founding principals. Coupled with this, he is the founder of TSS Capital (Pty Ltd) and its Chief Executive Officer. Warren is a non-executive director of Aluwani Capital Partners and Broll Property Group.
Warren gained a significant amount of experience whilst he worked as an
Investment Banker and Wealth Manager at ABSA Capital. Here, he managed a portfolio of ultra-high net worth families and their investment decisions. Prior to this, Warren was at Alexander Forbes and served in various roles within the institutional consulting and actuarial business. Being head of
one of the Consulting and Actuarial Branch in Sandton coupled with his previous experience of being Principal Consultant to a number of high profile
corporate clients gave Warren further exposure in the investments arena
Tommy is a Chartered Accountant (England and Wales) and has been the founder of international organisations such as Intercontinental Trust Ltd, and the accountant firm, Baker Tilly Mauritius. As a Type 1 Investment
Dealer with over two decades serving as Director of
the stock broking firm CMB, Tommy has extensive experience in many aspects of stockbroking, finance,
accounting and taxation
Thabo Simon Mahloele
Thabo brings his expertise and experience in financial markets to the 4AX board. He has been in the investment banking industry for more than 10 years in various roles within global markets, most recently as a Senior Manager in Fixed Income at Standard Bank. Prior to this, Thabo worked at Standard Chartered and Nedbank CIB. His responsibilities included selling vanilla and structured products to institutional clients. Thabo has in-depth experience in the fixed income markets in Sub-Saharan Africa.
Thabo is currently an executive at Vestra Advisory, a corporate advisory firm which provides regulatory, strategic and financial advice to its clients. He has a Bachelor of Business Science in Finance degree from UCT and is currently a CFA Level 3 candidate.
Kabelo is currently the CEO of Ascension Capital Partners, a black owned private equity firm. Kabelo Moja is a seasoned deal maker, with significant experience in deal origination and execution. Kabelo is a qualified and
admitted attorney of the High Court of the Republic of South Africa. His qualifications include an LLB and Postgraduate Diploma in Tax from the University of the Witwatersrand and a LLM from the University of Pretoria. In his prior roles at the PIC, Kabelo was principally involved in the structuring and
implementation of commercial and private equity transactions.
He has extensive experience in corporate restructuring, mergers, corporate finance, a host of debt, equity and mezzanine funding and private equity across a diverse range of industries. Recent projects that Kabelo has been involved in include an equity and debt investment into an ICT business, an urban property development and management business and a broadband services provider.
Theo holds an undergraduate degree in Law and a postgraduate qualification in Investment Management. Theo’s career history includes the co-founding of Galileo Capital, where he currently serves as a CEO and is a major shareholder. Hannes van der Merwe

Hannes brings over two decades of operational management experience and technical IT expert knowledge to 4AX. He will be directly responsible for implementing many of the Exchange’s expansion strategies and day-to-day operations. Head of Legal, Compliance and Issuer Regulation Division
Mohammed has over 10 years extensive corporate finance experience in advising companies in the listed and unlisted environment. He has been involved in numerous corporate finance transactions (including IPOs, capital raises, M&A) across various industry sectors as well as advising companies on the JSE Listings Requirements, the Companies Act, the Takeover Regulations and the King Code on Corporate Governance. He also completed a secondment as Corporate Finance Officer within the JSE’s Issuer Regulation Division. Mohammed joined 4AX in October 2018, prior to which he was at Standard Bank Corporate & Investment Banking.
Chief Risk Officer
Vusi has spent over 20 years in risk management covering the management and modelling of credit and market risks. His roles have included risk management of fixed income derivatives at Standard Corporate and Merchant Bank, setting up and managing the counterparty credit risk function at Nedbank and being part of a bankwide task team that was responsible for the drafting of regulations pertaining to market risk, private equity risk, and credit derivatives risk.

Estelle has a Legal Degree from the University of Stellenbosch and has 7 years of experience in Transfer and Company Secretarial Services specifically for JSE and 4AX Listed Issuers.
